As soon as we found each other in Ybor City I knew it was going to be an awesome day for pict-chah making. The way we met may to some be hilarious, (we were walking around 5 feet from each other talking on the phone trying to find one another), but to me is just well, life. We shot until there was no more light, and I believe I gave a very thorough tour of Ybor City as we walked from one end to the other, and then back again.

Shelli & Patrick, thank you so much for wandering around with me all afternoon! I had an amazing time getting to know you guys, cant wait for the wedding.

Amy & Jeff’s Engagement Session in Tampa, FL

I must say that the weather here in Florida has been a bit uncharacteristic to say the least. Basically, chilly. I say that because it was one of those chilly days when we went out for Amy & Jeff’s engagement session arounf downtown Tampa.

We ended up at the newly re-constructed Tampa Museum of Fine Art and it was awesome. We love what they have done with the space there and its so inviting for families and pups (they even have a dog park!) to go spend time down there in the park.

They were both so much fun and we are so happy with the photos. Enjoy.

Thats right. Just say it. “Divine Light; Youve been blog-slackers!” We so have. Its been a crazy year already with two destination weddings to the Bahamas and most recently Mexico and so many engagement sessions. We’ve taken some time off, recharged our batteries and are ready and super excited to get into wedding season.

We have so many weddings coming up here in Florida, nationwide and, thats right, more destination weddings with two more to Mexico and the Bahamas in the next 3 months!

We wanted to put up a little preview of our time in Mexico this last week with Sabrina and Ed so check out a few below. We’ll have many more of Sabrina and Ed’s Mexico Destination wedding in the Riviera Maya up soon as well as our many other amazing couple’s photographs very soon.

Sabrina and Ed had their wedding at the amazing Barcelo Tropical Beach Resort in Riviera Maya Mexico which is about and hour or so south of Cancun. The beaches are amazing and so beautiful. We traveled up the road for their Trash the Dress session in Playa Del Carmen. So amazing. Love that place. Enjoy of few of the photos and check back soon for more pics. Thanks.

Marilee & Matthew’s Fine Art Album Design

We dont show enough of our custom album designs on here and we really should. They are one of the things our brides say sets us even more apart from everyone else.

We put a ton of time and thought into each design and really try to tell the story of each day with style and personality of our clients always in mind.

Our albums are all unique and we never use a template or out source any of our designs. We do them all. We pride oursleves on this fact as not many in the wedding photography do their own photo editing let alon album design.

We are hands on. We love what we do. We wouldnt have it any other way.

Tara + Sean = Macie….introducing Macie - Newborn Session!!!

So, wow. I had a hunch when we shot Tara’s maternity session that it was going to be the start of a very lovely photo journey. And friends, I must say that little Macie has not disappointed! I had such a lovely afternoon over at Tara & Seans doing Macie’s newborn session, I tell you that if we had not started to run out of light, we could have shot all day! I am so excited for her 3 month session, cant wait to see her pushing up on her little arms and trying to scoot around her adorable nursery. Which is gorgeous! Thank you so much Tara! I will see you in a couple weeks!

2010’s First Photoclub Shoot Was Amazing!

Wednesday night was the first photoclub meeting of 2010 and it was our biggest yet. We had a night shoot/workshop with John & Kenzie of Kenzie Shores Photography bringing their ‘Guerrilla’ style of night shooting for everyone to see and Briana and I (Divine Light Photography) put on a mini-workshop on ‘Light Painting’ using long exposures and creative off-camera-lighting.

The night went amazing with over 40 photogrpahers in attendance, more than we had expected. Our 3 models had a blast as well.

Jamie & Adam } wedding { Sarasota, Florida

It was the most perfect day. As all local Floridian’s know, but seldom experience, the perfect day with just the right chill in the air, and just the right amount of sun. It was a most perfect day. Family was all around bustling from room to room, and the wedding parties in their separate rooms on opposite ends of the hotel floor readied for the occasion. There was quiet cause as everyone hurried to finish up the amazing details that were planned out by the bride & groom. In the end, when Jamie and Adam joined their two lives that day, everything was perfect.

It still cracks me up and makes me smile when I think of all their little jokes and names for each other, “smoody” is my fave i think. When we first met Jamie and Adam, they told us about their little nicknames, and I though aww, cute, right? But as we have gotten to know them, over time knowing little things like that and spending time with them, we began to feel on that very special day just like part of the family. Because thats how Jamie & Adam are, they love their families so very much, and their friends, (and the lines between family and friends are very very fuzzy), and you truly get to feel just how loving and caring they are.

Thanks so much guys for bringing us into your lives. We were truly honored and had an amazing time. Enjoy a few of our favorites.

Carol-Anne & Blaine } engaged { Tampa, FL

A more amazing couple this great city has not seen. Carol-Anne and Blaine engagement session last month was awesome with such great energy and flow. Both had amazing personalities and awesome chemistry, complimenting each other so well. Here are a few photos from there session as we try to get our blog back up and running after a long hiatus. So Brian & I are sitting here in the airport about to board our plane to our first wedding of 2010. What better way to start off the new year than with an amazing destination wedding with a fabulous couple in the Bahamas, yeh, we love our job. So Divine light friends, we just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy New Years and let you know that we will be out of the office through Jan. 4th. We will have limited access to email & phone service, so all calls and emails will be returned when we return.

So put on your party hats, get all your friends together, and blow something up for goodness sake! Its New Years, and its only american after all.
