So, yes. Yes, I know! Gorgeous! Thats what you are thinking right? How did you get so lucky to photograph such gorgeous people! Well, im just lucky I guess. But on top of that, not only are they so very gorgeous on the outside, Samantha & Tony, you melt my heart with your sincerity, and just precious spirits. I am so happy to be your photographer, working with you guys, well, its just like relaxing on the beach, its effortless.

Samantha & Tony, thank you for wandering through “the secret garden” with me, Tony, thank you for using your amazing navigation skills to help us get back when we got, um, sidetracked. Deanna & Josh - Married!!!!!!!

i am, just, so very in love. so very in love. It may be cheesy, some people may say its my job, so I have to say this, but, no, they are wrong, I am, so very in love with my job. Why you may ask? Because of couples like this. Deanna & Josh, you guys are amazing, i think i cried a couple times during your dinner toasts, (Paula, this is your fault!), your wedding songs, and um, everytime I saw you embrace your beautiful grandmother. Also, I believe that your shoes are my favourite shoes of all my weddings, we had a few moments together, it was special.

But most of all, silliness aside, I love my job, because of what I got to share with you guys on your day. It was beautful, everything went so perfectly, and I cant explain to you how precious it is to be brought into someones family on the most important day of their lives.

One of the most special things when you work in this business, is the relationships you form. When we first met Olivia & Eric for their engagement session, then for their wedding, and now, I have the pleasure of photographing their baby…..introducing, Mr. John Paul Isadore Hoegstrom! many more to come from this little guy, but i just had to throw in a sneak peek of the cuteness thats on the way….

Wow! It has been quite a banner week here at the DL studio. This morning, I woke up to find our OH SO FABULOUS couple David & Jennifer had been featured on TampaBay.com!!!!! Now, of course we are not at all surprised, they are absolutely fabulous and we cant wait to share all about them & their amazing story ourselves. However, we have a few things up our sleeves, so we will have to hold everyone in suspense just a little while longer. But soon friends, very soon!

Inspiration: An actual celebrity photographer

So I know Ive seen a few of these images before but I dont think I knew who took them. Brad Pitt was commissioned by W magazine to do a series of photos of his wife, Angelina Jolie. When I saw them I couldnt believe how amazing there are. The intimacy and closeness is breatghtaking and the photos are so simple and candid-feeling I would be so incredibly proud to have taken them. Being a photographer is much more than knowing about technicalities of light and equipment or style and composition. All those things make good pictures but to truly photograph the human spirit you have to be able to see. That is one of the reason’s why I originally named my business Divine Light. The eyes of the spirit are whats needed to capture the truth and simplicity of the human personality.
